Complexation magnesia alumina binder(G3297BX)
Complexation magnesia alumina binder, a kind of environmental-friendly inorganic binder, is mainly used for the production of basic unfired refractories and some acid unfired refractories. The binder can be divided into two groups: W3297BX and G3297BX. W3297BX specializes in magnesia-rich unfired products such as magnesia bricks, RH chrome-free bricks, magnesia chrome bricks, magnesia alumina bricks and magnesia carbon bricks. G3297BX specifically serves alumina-rich unfired products such as alumina magnesia bricks, alumina magnesia carbon bricks, alumina chrome bricks, carbon-free ladle bricks and various carbon-free bricks. The binder is carbon-free, non-toxic and tasteless, and is suitable to prepare unfired bricks for ultra-low carbon steel smelting.
This binder is a technical advanced complexation new material prepared by the nano technology at high temperatures under high pressure. When added with water, it forms colloid which bonds well so the mortar has good plasticity and is easy to shape. Besides, the binder is easy to operate during mixing: add water in the dry particle mixture and stir for about 3 min; then add directly the binder to stir for 5-7 min; finally add fines to the mixture to mix for another 10-12 min. This product is easy to operate and easy to mix well; and heating is not necessary in all seasons.
The main components of the binder are MgO and Al2O3. When used as the binder of basic or some acid refractories, it introduces no impurity. The binder powder prepared using the nano technology has bonding effect after hydration at room temperature. After drying, interspersed structure forms between the particles and the fines, endowing the unfired bricks with high strength. Meanwhile, at high temperatures, the binder improves sintering. Therefore, the refractories using this binder have high strength at both room temperature and high temperatures. The strength at room, medium and high temperatures can exceed 100MPa. In addition, the unfired bricks prepared with this binder have good refractoriness under load, thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. The refractories adopting this binder can be produced by simple techniques without firing, reducing the cost greatly and enhancing the competitive power of the manufacturer.
The onsite application shows that the carbon-free ladle bricks prepared with the complexation magnesia alumina binder behave obviously better than the preformed carbon-free cement castable blocks or the machine shaped bricks bonded by organic binders such as paper pulp, dextrin, brine and MgSO4. Thus, the complexation magnesia alumina binder is suitable for ultra low carbon steel smelting. It can be used in RH chrome-free systems and the carbon containing bricks to replace the phenolic resin. During service, no harmful dust will be emitted, meeting the environment protection standards both in China and overseas.
